ScamDrill ("we", "our", or "the app") is a digital safety education app that helps users recognize and avoid online scams and fraud. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

When you first open the app, you may enter a first name. This name is stored only on your device (in local storage) and is used solely to personalize your greeting. It is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

b) Lesson Progress

Your learning progress (completed lessons, quiz scores, practice history) is stored only on your device in local storage. This data is not transmitted to any server.

c) Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how the app is used and to improve the experience. GA4 may automatically collect:

  • Device information (model, operating system, screen size)
  • Session data (pages viewed, session duration)
  • Approximate location (country or city level, derived from your IP address — your IP address is not stored by GA4)
  • General app interaction events (taps, scrolls)

This data is aggregated and anonymized. It does not include any personally identifiable information. Google's privacy policy applies to the data they process: policies.google.com/privacy

d) AI Practice Simulations

When you use the AI-powered practice mode, your conversation inputs are sent to an AI service to generate realistic scam simulation responses. These inputs are processed in real time and are not stored by us. The AI service provider may have its own data retention policies.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • Email addresses or phone numbers
  • Passwords or account credentials
  • Contacts, photos, or files from your device
  • Precise GPS location
  • Financial or payment information

3. No User Accounts

ScamDrill does not require you to create an account or sign in. There is no registration, login, or authentication of any kind.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. The only third-party service that receives any data is Google Analytics (as described above), which processes anonymized usage data.

5. Data Storage and Security

All personal data (name, progress) is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the app or clear app data, this information is permanently deleted. We have no ability to recover it.

6. Children's Privacy

ScamDrill is designed for users of all ages, including senior citizens. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since no personal data is transmitted to our servers, no children's data is collected or stored by us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
